TODAY

Long has the notion captured the thoughts of great minds that perhaps the most important time of our lives is today. Tomorrow and yesterdays rarely serve as the muse of philosophers for a reason.

Today is the best day to begin. Today is the best day to create. Join TEDxKelowna’s 2017 speakers to explore what is happening today that will change our tomorrow. Elbert Hubbard said, "The best preparation for good work tomorrow is to do good work today." Let’s start, today.

What Are You Going To Do About It?

2015

The 4th annual TEDxKelowna welcomed inspiring leaders from near and far who shared their story of igniting change and activating ideas worth doing. The focus was going beyond the talk—landing with a call to action that will force us to rise to the challenge of: “What are you going to do about it?”

This year we want to ignite ideas like never before.

The stories, not more than 18 minutes in length, facilitated dialogue, opened up new realms of thought and continue to spread 'ideas worth sharing'. Speakers were be recorded and videos are available on the speaker's profiles.

Speakers:
Mark Jenning-Bates, Lisa Kilgour, Sonya Looney, Linda Edgecombe, Ken Surritte, Gina Cherkowski and Will Cromack

What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up?

2014

TEDxKelowna 2014 revisited the question we were all asked as a young child “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Perhaps you’re never too old (or too young) to be presented with the challenge of what we will do or become when we grow up. Perhaps, you've aged and gained life experience and accomplished amazing things but never grown up. Perhaps you are young but have already done things that many people twice your age have never even thought of.

This year showcased inspiring trailblazers who told stories of their journey, how they ventured out and found something daring that forced them to think like a child once more. Finding the wonder and opportunity that has led to discoveries that feed their spirits, fulfill their lives and ignite a lasting ripple effect of change for the Okanagan and beyond.

Speakers:
Ryan Clements, Aanikh Singh Kler, Cheryl Bernard, Jana Webb, Dr. Mark Holder, Sam McLoughlin, Dr. Shimi Kang, Darius Konstant, Rachel Creighton and David MacLean
